Corporate Overview:
Best Mailing Service, Inc. (Best Mailing) opened for business in August of 1973. Initially, the company focused on advertising mail. Over the years, Best Mailing grew to handle a wide variety of services as a full service direct mail marketing firm. Our services ranged from inkjet addressing and catalog fulfillment, to first class mail presorting.
In 1990, Best Computer Service, Inc. (Best Computer) opened to handle the ever increasing need for data processing services in the direct mail industry. Best Computer expanded its services to include high speed laser printing, statement and invoice generation, and database manipulation services, currently printing more than 1,500,000 statements and invoices per month.
In 1995, Best Mailing acquired Presort Express, of Roanoke, Virginia, to complete the diversity of its services. The business of Presort Express, now the Roanoke Division of BMS Direct, offers daily mail pick up and first class presort services to the Roanoke Valley and beyond. Our Roanoke Division has evolved into a full service presort facility that is providing the same high quality service for which Lynchburg’s BMS Direct is known. Today, our Roanoke Division has more than tripled its initial volume as well as its production floor capacity.
Over the years, Best Mailing has grown from a two-person operation, housed in a garage, to an organization with more than 45 employees in two production facilities totaling more than 95,000 square feet. BMS strives to offer its customers the highest quality service available at a reasonable cost. This combination is achieved by continuously investing in employees, equipment, and facilities to stay on the cutting edge of the direct mail industry.
In September 2007, Best Mailing Service (BMS) and Best Computer Services merged to form BMS Direct, Inc. The merger combined the services of both companies to form a progressive direct mail marketing solution targeting Virginia, Maryland, DC, and North Carolina markets and serving clients nationally. BMS Direct customers continue to receive the same high quality and personal customer service they have been accustomed to for the past 34 years.
BMS Direct, Inc provides a one stop solution for our customers, from creative design and printing to complete mailing and fulfillment services. James LaPrade continues to serve as President and Leif Aagaard is Vice President of BMS Direct, Inc. LaPrade explains “By combining our businesses together we are able to reduce costs and improve our operations without jeopardizing the valuable service and customer support we provide our clients.”
